Community Groups

What are Community Groups?

In the book of Acts we see the early church gathering together daily in the temple and from house to house. We are told “they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” The key to understanding community is to grab hold of the word “devoted”. We believe community groups are an essential component in entering in to a committed relationship with other believers in the local church. Commitment and devotion are essentially the same - we are committed to one another because we are devoted to Jesus. Our community groups gather around these four facets: learning, fellowship, food, and prayer.

Why should I join a Community Group?

Scripture is abundantly clear that we are to live life together. It is the means by which love, growth, accountability, transparency, and friendships are cultivated. We believe community groups are essential in Gospel growth. They are where we learn together, build our lives together, eat together and pray together. Your new birth means that you have been born into a family – community groups are a place to embrace that.
